This week's inspiration was Spring, but this puts me in a bit of a spin, because South Africa are well on their way to Autumn. I'm not complaining, Autumn is a lovely time, and right now we still have weather that would make the devil sweat, so I opted for something cool, fresh and lemony.
This set was created on Polyvore, if you have any queries about it, drop me a comment, or an email.
Found in Norwood. I have no idea what these are, but I am sure they are representing giraffes.
Afternoon thunder showers. I must admit, this photo was taken by Flip.
It look like Voldemort should appear any second.
I tried to capture the crisp golden afternoon glow as I drove home from work. There is a little hill behind these houses and it always has this bright glow to it, with the dark, heavy cloud blanket surrounding it. It is quite the sight! This is always also accompanied by a rainbow, which was too faint to capture this time.
I try and remind myself everytime I see a rainbow that it was God's promise that He would never flood the earth again and that He loves unconditionally. Just think about it, he created a beautiful rainbow to keep on reminding us about His love!
If you answered yes to this, and I believe you have, because you are here, reading this. I would like to appeal to you.
Please. Never. Stop. Being. Curious!
Was it not curiosity that made Christopher Columbus get on a boat and discover the Americas? Is it not curiosity that has you talking to the new girl or guy at work and then discovering in a few weeks that you have formed a new friendship? And is it not curiosity that causes you to try a new dish, which then becomes your favourite food, or that made you walk into that quaint little decor shop and find the one thing you have been looking for for quite some time?
Curiosity killed the cat? PAH
Being a journalist, I am often, and inherently so, curious. I always want to know more about every topic I come across. My puppies have just once again renewed my faith in curiosity. They see, smell, learn, chew and sometimes hurt their way through everything they find.
My babies
Curiosity is the axle that makes the world go round and round.
BE CURIOUS
PS: Since I am obsessed with decorating and all things decor related these days, I thought I would share some of my favourite websites and places of inspiration to quench my curious decor thirst.
The other day a long time friend invited us over to his parents' farm (actually a smallholding) for his birthday.
We went for a walk to the river on the property, which is about 1 km from the house. We used to swim in the icy cold brook, or take the inside of a tire, (you know, the soft bit, that blows up) and let the stream take you. It was some good fun, but we were warned that this time we shouldn't take a swim, as there were some health risks. (The reality of South Africa, informal settlements and such).
However, we did not let this put a damper on the day and we still had one heck of a time. I managed to snap a few shots, taken with Flip's iPhone.
He was such a cutie and so friendly! He came right up to us and I got a chance to pet him.
