Farm Escape

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

The other day a long time friend invited us over to his parents' farm (actually a smallholding) for his birthday.

We went for a walk to the river on the property, which is about 1 km from the house. We used to swim in the icy cold brook, or take the inside of a tire, (you know, the soft bit, that blows up) and let the stream take you. It was some good fun, but we were warned that this time we shouldn't take a swim, as there were some health risks. (The reality of South Africa, informal settlements and such).

However, we did not let this put a damper on the day and we still had one heck of a time. I managed to snap a few shots, taken with Flip's iPhone.

He was such a cutie and so friendly! He came right up to us and I got a chance to pet him.

The long and winding road. Kidding.

Spot the donkey.
