Friday Fancies - New Year, New You

A new year always holds the symbolism of rejuvenation, of reinventing yourself and trying to make a better situation of your life, whether it be a new job {like me, who will be an editor as of Monday}, a better body, better relationships with your friends and family or any area in your life that you think needs some sprucing up.

It's a fresh and clean start, with little worries about the year that has passed, because let's be honest, how much do you really remember from last year? There are a few dates that stood out, like having to say goodbye to one of my best friends who passed away in September due to cancer, and then repeating this last week with my uncle; other dates that also stood out included my birthday {because it is imprinted in my brain} and of course when the love of my life proposed! With a new year ahead, I hope to make new memories and I hope to make them in style.

The theme for this week's Friday Fancies couldn't have been more spot on - 'New Year, New You' - and I think this year I will try and reflect my inner girly girl by wearing a lot more dresses! Trust me, this is entirely a new me, as I normally don a pair of skinny jeans and a loose fitting shirt. I'm going to take my inspiration from a 1950's housewife, that accentuates a lady's best bits!
